You can lose weight eating any food just like you can gain weight eating any food. It's true that you can lose weight eating junk food as long as you’re in a calorie deficit. You can also gain weight eating “healthy food” as long as you’re in a calorie surplus.

Eating a whole foods diet can help you lose weight easier because it's more filling than eating lots of processed, non-filling, fiberless foods. It takes longer to digest whole foods because it has lots of fiber, vitamins, minerals and more. 

Focus on your HEALTH, not weight loss by eating nutrient-dense food such as whole grains, fish, meats, nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
